Sabina Blackwood is an ancient vampire trying to stay hidden from the rest of vampire society. She and her female human familiar, Adelaide Browning, run a high-scale brothel in Victorian London’s East End. 

With the help of her vampiric power - the ability to enhance human senses so that their “experiences” in her establishment are life-altering - everything is as it should be. Business is booming until a string of violent murders sends shockwaves through her clientele. Someone is killing women of the night, which causes weariness amidst her loyal patrons, and Detective Inspectors begin questioning some of her competitors.

When the murders start hitting home and the culprit is targeting her own girls at 'Absynthia,' it draws the attention of Detective Inspector Edmund Marston. Sabina must intervene and quietly join the hunt for the killer in order to keep her life and its secrets safe.

The two become close as they try to discover the killer’s identity and stop him. As they are hot on his trail, it's a race against the clock to find him and uncover once and for all who Jack the Ripper truly is before all of her darkest secrets are revealed and the vampire society she’s been hiding from comes to claim her.
