Coming Soon…

Plan to fail and fail to plan… the motto I feel like was written for my life.

As per my last blog post, I discussed my dual brain problems of craving constant structure while simultaneously causing chaos. This is still the way.

Every time I plan… I fail. Every time I don’t plan… I still fail, just less so. (as in my todo lists, etc… not life in general, that would be too bleak a statement. let’s save that for therapy, shall we?)

Anywho… I said this post would be up Monday, and well, I just HAD to eat a salad for dinner on Sunday night and that lettuce just HAD to make me sick. Thank you to the trying to be healthy me. Healthy me gets food poisoning. You know who doesn’t get food poisoning? Cookie me.

I digress.

So what changes are we (yes we, both you and I, because I surprise myself just as often) to look forward to coming up.

Well “planned”, but given 0 time constraints so as to trick my brain, is pulling Whisper of Secrets from Royal Road.

“Le gasp! Whatever do you mean????” you might be asking yourself?

It’s not for anything bad I promise.

I am simply going to be pulling it to a) release it (Date TBD) and b) replace it with the new story!

Let’s go over point a.

Releasing it… yea… still on the fence with this one. I’ve heard and been told many a time that lots of folks won’t even give a series a chance until all books have been published. So there is this part of me who feels like I need to finish all 4 books then do a quick release schedule with The Whispers Saga.

This plan has it’s benefits. However… with book 1 being totally done, polished, ready to go, etc., I just feel like waiting is for the birds. However — however… lol… I don’t even have a final cover ready for it or planned exactly and I would be totally raw dogging it’s release with 0 lead up. Could work? Yes. Could fail? Also yes.

So what’s a girl to do?

I don’t know! which brings me to point b.

I know I will be replacing Whispers of Secrets with a new story because I love sharing my stories but I also love sharing on RR.

What’s this new story about?

I can’t tell you too much just yet but I can tell you this. It’s an isekai-progression-gamelit fantasy… or however you say that together (not sure which word should go first). Stats on stats on stats, which has been super fun to write! Super confusing at times but let me tell you… as in true “me” fashion, I go big or I go home… and I went big. World building out the wazoo with a little chaos, a little fuckery, and lots of shenanigans.

I can also tell you the name… drumroll please.

Decks of Eloswyr

Huzzah! Woot Woot! New story incoming!

Another mini spoiler — the main character’s name is Leora and she is an Istrielle. But you get to find out what that is and how she gets sucked into the world of Eloswyr in the first chapter coming soon.

Another mini spoiler — I am planning on this story to be released 3-4 days a week instead of the 1 of Whisper of Secrets. So I am writing my ass off to hit a certain point where I can get ahead for release.

What does this mean for Royal Road and Patreon?

For now, I will continue to release chapters of Whisper of Secrets on both platforms each week and will not be pulling it down until I release DoE. AFTER I begin releasing DoE, Whispers is pulled and DoE bonus chapters will replace the Whispers chapters in Patreon as the reward. I might offer a tier that is a one month only for those who REALLY want to finish Whispers and do not want to wait with the ability to purchase the ebook directly from me for now. I’m still thinking on that one and logistics, etc. and will update on that as it happens.

What other changes are on the horizon?

Lots of stories. Lots of art for said stories. Lots of everything.

I just need to clone me or buy more time and energy for my day. Being a spoonie author (post coming soon on this topic of writing through chronic illness) my days are hit and miss. Goes full circle with the opening… plan to fail and fail to plan. I know that’s not the correct saying… yes I am aware. I have modified it to fit me and my circumstances because it’s so true. I can plan to do something this specific day to my hearts content but unless I wake up said day with my body and brain following suit… it’s a fail.

So, look forward to more stuff coming, but no dates are set yet. Dates stress out us spoonies. Deadlines too.

For now, enjoy knowing that Decks of Eloswyr is on the horizon and has been an absolute blast to write so far! I am soooooo excited to share it!
