Whisper of Secrets

Book 1 - Whisper of Secrets
Perfect for fans of Leigh Bardugo’s Ninth House and V.E. Schwab’s Addie LaRue,
Whispers of Secrets is a hauntingly beautiful blend of modern-day self-discovery and dark fantasy, where memory is fragile, magic is ancient, and every secret whispers a price.
———————————————————————————————-
An unknown past. An unforgivable secret. One world opens while another crumbles.
Savi and Aster’s lives are mirror opposites in almost every way.
Savi Morgan mysteriously appeared on a bridge one night, naked and covered in blood with no memories. With two unexplainable scars and odd recurring dreams, she has spent the last two years searching for answers to who she is and why she can’t remember.
Aster Gonzalez is a witch who has dedicated her life to honing her magic for the sole purpose of taking her place as the coven’s thirteenth Elder. After more than a decade of blind obedience and following the right path, it's finally within her grasp.
But when their worlds collide and Aster agrees to help Savi, everything changes. Savi’s world opens as she’s thrust into magic and the lives of the supernatural, while Aster’s begins to crumble as she discovers that everything she thought she knew was a lie.
The two must navigate their new realities amidst secrets and betrayals, and the further they go, the more they uncover. Can Savi harness her own magic to unlock her memories, or will Aster find something sinister hidden within Savi that holds the key?

What People Are Saying
“I don’t usually cry over books, but Whispers of Secrets got me in the feelings. Savi’s journey with memory loss, trauma, and trying to rebuild her life was raw and beautiful.
It’s not action-packed or romance-heavy, it’s personal. Quiet. Powerful. The friendship between her and Rachel felt so real (I would protect Jooper with my life, tbh), and the writing is GORGEOUS. If you liked Ninth House or The Dead and the Dark, add this to your list.
I already need Book 2.”
— Emma C. (ARC Reader)
“This isn’t a fantasy book in the traditional sense. It’s a healing story with supernatural elements, full of real-world mental health, anxiety, and the messy beauty of found family.
I adored the quiet magic in the prose. It reminded me of Addie LaRue in how it lingered emotionally. Savi’s voice is so raw and human. There are no cheap twists, just a slow unraveling that feels earned.
If you like soft darkness and character-first stories, this is for you.”
— Sarah M. (Beta Reader)
“I was lucky enough to receive an early copy of this book, this review and opinions expressed are my own. The stakes build slowly but gradually and then explode in fast-paced action. The characterization is really well done - with how Savi is written, it was easy to connect with her and relate to her, she genuinely made me tear up at multiple points throughout the story. I liked Aster as well and some others I hated with a passion (I won't say who because spoilers) but that's really a testament to good writing as well. I especially liked how the author described the characters dealing with their trauma / anxiety in a realistic and healthy way, e.g. we view Savi in her therapy sessions in multiple scenes. Other than that, the lore and fantasy/mythical worldbuilding is really interesting and thorough. Good mix of fantasy and romance/drama without either of the two overshadowing the other.”

About The Author
Rhea Lockhart writes darkly immersive fantasy where secrets linger, shadows breathe, and nothing is ever quite what it seems. She weaves stories of haunted cities, hidden magic, and flawed characters who carry more than just scars. When not writing, she’s likely sketching, researching forgotten folklore, or talking to ghosts (fictional… probably).
